Saudi : Will be sighted tonight, on 29th of old month.2nd Aug being the 1st of Dil-Hajj.

Bangladesh : Will be sighted tomorrow Friday, also on 29th of old month. 3rd Aug being Dil-Hajj.

Fasting all 10 days of Dil-Hajj has very high reward. The later days having even more. The highest on 9th. Which is also the day of Arafah of Hajj.

I might take some time to list all the rewards expressed for these 10 days, if I get some time.

And some explains Sura Fajar's : walayalin ashri [and the ten nights] refers to these 10 days.

Rewards for the first 10 days of Dil-Hajj. Quoting some from "Guniatut Talibin". Not all of it might be authentic, therefore check with your scholar on what to follow first. I have provided link to the chapter in comment, and it's in arabic.

This hadith expresses : [worshiping] on these 10 days of Dil-hajj is better than anything, even better than jihad, unless one's body falls on earth.

No dynasty lasts forever. God brings a new one up, and throws the old one down. It's a cycle that the world had been going through since human history. 20 years isn't an exact number, just an average approximation.

|| Sins of a regime will come back to bite it

Come back to bite after that regime has lost power. As long as one is in power, God grants him freedom to do whatever he wishes. "What he wishes" was his test. Consequence of what he wished, is what he will get in return. No sin gets lost for ever.

|| Later regimes punish the older ones

And the one that will come after this one will punish this one. This is the cycle. And every regime is here for a reason. Therefore one regime's abuse won't cause it to fall prematurely before its time, it's here for the reason to punish the older abusers too. That task has to be fulfilled.

That book talks of a prophet who was so upset with the regime in power that he prayed to God for it to fall. God replied destiny was written thousands of years before you, including who will rule for what period. I won't change it because you can't be patient on his abuses. Why don't you rather migrate to another place if you can't be patient here?

|| Regime includes everyone in power

And it's not only the kings or governments. Everyone that leads a group, family, business or has authority on someone falls in this cycle. Therefore the best we can do is to be soft in our behavior. Everyone's time will end and he will find himself in a position that he despised. And find himself in the mercy of the weak ones who are now in power.

How long ago was Jesus [Esa as.] born? 2000 years. From our point in time it seems like an eon ago. Peak of the now dead Roman empire. And pyramids were 2000 years before Esa. Therefore people during Esa watched the pyramids like how we currently watch the ruins form Jesus's time. Broken remnants that has an old story to tell.

Egyptians watched the Babylonians like that. Another 2000 year old civilization. From which only legends remain.

The legend is more or less the same. We are all part of a bigger plan. Far larger than what we comprehend. And God the almighty selected one person within the civilization to preach the words. And to warn them of life after death. This is the Abrahamic religion, which spans earlier than him.

|| How do we know they are telling the truth?

It's the chain of the messengers where one authenticate the other. Everyone declared, "the one that came before me spoke the truth. I am the current messenger. And next one after me will bear a name and appearance like this." This chain is their sign.

|| "Signs" not proofes

And every thing they said was about God showing us signs. Not proofs. Because once the conclusive final proof arrives, that's the end of civilization, or my life, or the world. We believe in the proof, by accepting and having faith on the signs, and before the proof arrives.

The general message of all the messengers were that humans and their existence is part of larger events that spans billions of years. It started with God the almighty wanting to create a race that will worship Him without having seen Him. When we were born we came from Him and when we die we return to Him. This world and life is the test bed to separate the good souls form the evil.

Faith is the foundation of the messengers' teachings. Recognizing God as one and only, who doesn't have any partner. And all worship should be subjected to Him. That's acceptance.

|| The afterlife

If there's a lack of religious scholars in a nation then without doubt it's the best path to follow. That was the case in BD in the 70s as I had seen it. There were lots of "saints" what we call "pir", but almost no scholars.

In contrast when there is an over supply of religious scholars and you see them fighting within themselves for popularity and post, that indicates the society right now isn't hungry for another one.

That's the point when one should learn the religious teachings for himself mainly. To know the rulings so that he himself can act on it and later teach his family. That's "beneficial knowledge" which Rasulullah ﷺ prayed for.

But knowledge of only useful things on a subject, doesn't make oneself a "scholar" on that subject. He will be simply another "knows enough to get it done" person.

And no matter how bad it sounds, that's the level everyone should pursuit for, when there's no lack of real scholars on that subject.

That brings up the next question : what amount of religious knowledge can we consider as beneficial and useful in one's life?

That's for another day.

Philippines recently was stuck by the same variant. They don't have an unpopular gov which might want to subside counts. Checked their mortality rate : 0.5%, that is 5 person for each 1000 infected. In BD 1600 are getting admitted into hospital daily. Multiply and got a number. Multiply that over for how many days it's running and got a total number for 1 month. And this doesn't include people that aren't getting admitted into hospitals, dying, and their death being attributed to other causes. Link to one such news in comment.

Well I can't publish my numbers here, as gov is very strict on publishing anything on mortality from Dengue. Don't say, don't speak, keep quite.

Note that a cash crunch always happens before Eid al azha. But there was the gov owned Sonali Bank which lent other banks money. Until now that it. Right now there's none.

It's needed because whenever opposition attacks, your troops might not be ready for a counter-attack.

And when you are ready, the opposition might be not be willing to attack you to justify a raid against them.

Here false flag attacks come in handy. Plan your attack months in advance. Move you troops in place which will take more months. And when everything is in place and you are ready, don't wait.

Create a false flag attack to start the war.

নারী ও শিশু নির্যাতন এবং পাচার প্রতিরোধে একটি ‘সেল’ চালু করেছে মহিলা ও শিশুবিষয়ক মন্ত্রণালয়। ‘১০৯’ নম্বরে ফোন করে সেবা পাওয়া যাচ্ছে। এই হেল্পলাইনের প্রোগ্রাম অফিসার রাইসুল ইসলাম প্রথম আলোকে বলেন, তাঁদের এই নম্বরে গড়ে প্রতিদিন সাড়ে ছয় থেকে সাত হাজার ফোন আসে। যিনি ফোন করছেন, তাঁর পরিচয় ও সমস্যা জেনে স্থানীয় প্রশাসনসহ যেভাবে প্রয়োজন সেভাবে সহায়তা করা হয়।

দুর্যোগের তথ্য জানতে ‘১০৯০’

দুর্যোগ ব্যবস্থাপনা ও ত্রাণ মন্ত্রণালয়ের হেল্পলাইনে ফোন করলে দুর্যোগ-সংক্রান্ত তথ্য জানা যায়। বিটিআরসির একজন কর্মকর্তা বলেন, মূলত দুর্যোগের সময়ে এই নম্বরে বেশি ফোন আসে।

দুর্নীতি প্রতিরোধে হেল্পলাইন (১০৬) চালু করেছে দুর্নীতি দমন কমিশন। কোথাও দুর্নীতি ও অনিয়ম হলে পরিচয় গোপন রেখেও জানানো যাবে এই নম্বরে।

The bad thing is death isn't instant, the hospital can chose to keep one alive on life support for as long as it wishes. But it isn't willing to do so, as there are others lining up for life support. The hospital calls you and ask "we want to remove life support for your son, do you agree?"

Only VIP deaths are getting printed on news papers. The rest are death of someone we know that doesn't appear on the news.

Short translation : for the first 10 days of Dil-Hajj, fasting every day is like fasting for a year. And worshiping every night is like worshiping for a year. ﷺ

The most likely scenario is that India will cancel Kashmir's special status which was signed in 1950. It gives it an pseudo autonomous, pseudo independence state. Like how our Chittagong hill tracks enjoy since the 90s. No one can go there and buy properties like how he can in any other region of the state.

Up to that is ok. Ok in the sense it's unlikely to cause the world order to get upside down. But the game will start after that. With so many artillery and armies amassed in Kashmir, which now independent callers are counting at 500k, India is likely to begin its advancement into Pakistan part of Kashmir. That will cause the world to get on its head.

Whether that happens or not is something to watch. We most possibly will know shortly.

This time he was successful. Took 20 mins to cross 35 km at 170 km/hr top speed. Re-fueled once. Therefore these hover boards still can't fly more than 10 mins on a single charge-fuel load.

His one runs on liquid fuel though. The fuel tank is his back pack.

And reported deaths in news papers. Previously daily 4 persons. Last two days 6 everyday in the whole country. And today 6 person dead in Dhaka only, not counting the rest of the country, and in half a day [12 hours].

Remember mortality rate is 0.5%. 5 person that I know of are dead. That's only from people I know of.

The basic skill is to be able of writing a number over an existing number. Which results in both getting added.

I won't cover the basics, as this is for those that already know the basics. Just the extra stuffs :

Here is the set of numbers you can write [1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9]
To add 5 :
Pull down the "5" bead.
If it's already down then pull that up and pull up a "1" on its left.

With case for 5 solved, we now have two set of remaining numbers [1,2,3,4] the low-number set, and [6,7,8,9] the high-number set.

Convert the high into one of low number reducing it by 5.

We now are down to [1,2,3,4].

Pull up that many bids of "1"s from bottom. And if the number was from high set, then also pull down the "5" form top following the rule describe first.

Can't pull up "1"s? Some of those might already be up. Then don't pull anything up. Rather pull down required "1"s as to complement the given number to 5. For example pull down 2 beads, if you can't pull up 3 beads. After that pull down the "5" as described above. Or pull up a "1" on the left column if the number was from the high number set without touching any "5".

20 years ago it was believed that we mostly run on cattle imported from India. If that stops, we shall starve to death and find no cattle to slaughter on Eid.

People welcome Indian cattle import with joy. Specially when they watched news of incoming flow of Indian cattle before Eid.

While the Indian side watched this trend with rage.

5 years ago India-BJP-Modi ji stopped export of all indian cattle to Bangladesh. Surely now we shall all starve to death, right?

Wrong. A very large home grown cattle industry grew up in the mean time. Fully covering demand year round and for Eid.

Right now Indian cattle is the most unwanted thing here locally. Nobody wants it. Today's news : Border guard has been strengthened to prevent Indian cattle from entering Bangladesh. This was unthinkable five years back.

And who's starving to death? In other news : hundreds of cattle in India are starving to death as those now can't be sold in Bangladesh.

I said Wao!!! That was my childhood dream. He finally has been able to accomplish that. Stabilizing the chopper, controlling its twist and torque, adding a control stick, learning to fly it and then convincing the government to provide a flying license!

The book Guniyat tells of the following hadith on Hajj.

وروى أن رسول الله -صلى الله عليه وسلم -أتاه أعرابي وقال له: يا رسول الله خرجت أريد الحج ففاتنى، وأنا رجل متزر -يعني محرمًا -فمرني بما أصنع فأبلغ به الحج أو مثل أجر الحج، قال: فالتفت إليه رسول الله -صلى الله عليه وسلم -فقال له: انظر إلى أبى قبيس، فنظر إلى أبى قبيس، قال له: فلو أن لك أبا قبيس ذهبًا أحمر وجعلته في سبيل الله ما بلغت ما بلغ الحاج

Short translation : A man missed Hajj and asked Rasululllah ﷺ for an alternative so as to get equal rewards. He ﷺ told him "Look at the mountain Abu Qubais". This is the largest mountain that surround Qaba. The man looked at it. Then Rasululllah ﷺ said, "Even if you had as much red gold as this mountain, and distributed it all for Allah, your reward still would not reach near to that of a Hajj."

What it does is, it receives transponder broadcast from airplanes, giving you the ability to identify all planes flying overhead.

You can do the same with apps like FlightRadar and FlightTracker but these again depend on some other people's ADS-B receiver that they have connected up with these apps. Having your own adds to this communal effort. Plus gives you a priority account to their services.

As if recently some Government bonds going negative in interest rate weren't enough, which basically means you are paying the government to stow away your money -- today's news is that a Danish bank offering -0.5% interest rate for a 10 year mortgage on property purchases. That's negative point five.

Looks like with so much money floating around, people rather are now paying money to get rid of money.

وأما القرآن فأنزله الله شيئًا بعد شيء على التدريج متفرقًا،

The big info here is fasting on Ashura and 3 days per month came *before* order of fasting in Ramadan. That explains a lot. Like why if fasting 30 days of Ramadan + 6 afterwards equals to fasting the whole year, then there's still an order to fast 3 days per month that counts as fasting for the whole month? Shouldn't the previous one cover it?

I understand that 30 + 6 is the last order which we act on. And 3 days / month was prior that, if the above text and my understanding are correct.

Only exception right now seems Ahle Hadith community's view in our country. Most of their opinion is on fasting as per Mecca's date. Possibly Matiur Rahman Madani said it in one of his video, as someone stated it. I haven't checked personally.

Cattle price dropped after evening today. And most of everyone has purchased their.

Price fell 40% after yesterday evening when it was 36 hours to Eid. And at that moment every one around us seem to have purchased their one.

None of the very large cattle with catchy names are selling. One seller reported "Not one buyer asked for its price, except for news reporters." Other said, "People buy meat year round at 500 taka, but won't take my extra large bull for 150 per kg."

Many of those large cattle are already 4 year old. Taking it back to try it next year might not work.

I would say not bad. These cattle fattening projects should stop. And death of a very large bull early in this market which created news title didn't help the traders.

12 hours before market close. News : a lot of stock in the market still unsold, and no customer. Everyone that planned to purchase one has already got his.

Indicating price will further collapse in the last hours.

This is good. Next years it will incentivize the traders to sell their stock on the early days of trade, and not hold and wait for a last night spike, which everyone currently does now.

Interestingly when we used to receive supply of Indian cattle, cattle price used to spike in the last day due to shortage of supply and that happened for four years in row.

And now when BD is producing its own, the price is collapsing due to oversupply. This now happening two years in a row.

আরেক গরু ৩৮ মনের "যুবরাজ"। ৫ দিন আগে, "দাম ৪০ লাখ, ২৭ লাখ পর্যন্ত উঠেছে।"

ভালো। আজকের ভিডিও : মালিক বেসামাল হয়ে পড়ছে, তাই এখন এখানে নেই। তদারককারির কথা "কোনো একজন ক্রেতাও এটার কোনো দাম বলে নি এখন পর্যন্ত।" তবে ২৭ লাখ কোথা থেকে আসলো?

গাবতলিতে ১০ লাখ টাকার উপর দাম গরু ছিলো ১০০ টা। সবগুলোর একেকটা নাম দেয়া। ব্যনার টাংগানো। বিক্রি হয়েছে ৫ টা। বাকি কোনোটাই বিক্রি হয় নি।

শেষে ২৮ মনের গরু। বলছে, "তিন লাখের নিচে হলেও বিক্রি করে দেবো।" মানে কেজি প্রতি ২৭০/=

এই গরুগুলো আবার সামনের বছর উঠবে। বয়স আরো এক বছর বেশি। সংগে এই সাইজের নতুন আরো আরো কিছু গরু। স্বপ্ন ঘুরতে থাকে এই ভাবে। যেই লোক গরু আর মেয়ে নিয়ে এসে ফটো সেশন করেছিলো "এই গরু বিক্রি করে এই মেয়ের বিয়ে দেবো"। না সেটাও বিক্রি হয় নি।

সমস্যা কি? ডিমান্ড সাপ্লাইয়ের খেতা পুড়ি। ব্যপারিদের দাবি, "সমস্যা হলো সিন্ডিকেট"।

কিন্তু কে সিন্ডিকেট করে কার গরুর দাম কমালো?

"এই এগ্রো ফার্ম ওয়ালারা সিন্ডিকেটি করে তাদর পরিচিতদের কাছে গরু বিক্রি করে", তাই ব্যপারিরা বিক্রি করতে পারে না। ব্যসিক্যলি "সরোবোর" হলো সিন্ডিকেট।

ঈদের আগে ঢাকার এক এগ্রো ফার্মের রেট ছিলো সাধারন গরু ৪০০ টাকা কেজি। আর ৬০০ কেজির উপরের বড় গরু ৬০০ টাকা কেজি।

"কিন্তু বড় জিনিসের দাম কেজিতে কিছু কম হবে না?"
"গরুর হাটে লজিক আনছেন কেন? এগুলো কিতাবে রাইখেন এইখানে চলে না।"

শেষে এখন ব্যপারিরা বড় গরু কেজি প্রতি ছোট গরুর অর্ধেক দামে হলেও বিক্রি করবে।

• বড় বড় শিংওয়ালা হাড্ডিসার গরুগুলো ইন্ডিয়ান গরু। এবার ঈদে আসেনি। আগে যেগুলো এসেছিলো সেগুলো পেলে বড় করে কিছু বিক্রি হয়েছে। তবে কম।

Hajj : Heavy rain in the mid summer noon as soon as the time of Arafah in Hajj started, which brought down the temperature. And a colorful rainbow in the sky of Qaba. Though not many were present on that point to watch it.

No mass death, or accident report from Hajj yet, which was a common occurrence from '90 to '10.

And in BD, everyone seems to be happy with their purchase and most of the cattle have been slaughtered with meat processed and divided.

So far so good.

Man had a friend, he visited once every year. One year he visited and knocked. Friend's wife replied "He is out to chop wood." and then burst with her anger towards her husband.

As the man waited outside, his friend returned after a while, surprisingly carrying the chopped wood on the back of lion. They entered home, the friend ordered the lion to go back, and then had meal together and talked, all while the friend's wife curses from behind and the man replying nothing.

The man was astonished watching how much patience his friend had.

Next year.

The man visited again. But first he visited the jungle to watch how his friend was coping with the lion. He was astonished to watch the lion is now wild, and everyone in the jungle scared of it.

He went back to his friend's home, and knocked. He heard a very polite voice of his wife welcoming him in and telling him that his friend is in the jungle and will return shortly.

Surely he did, carrying the wood on his own back visibly tiered and in hardship.

They entered home, had launch and talk. The man finally asked his friend what happened?

He replied, "My wife was bad mannered. And because I was patient on it, Allah rewarded me making the animals in the jungle obedient. She died last year and I married a new woman who's good mannered. But as a result I have lost the reward which God had provided me previously."

The man said, "I visited the jungle a while ago and watched that lion. It was wild, everyone scared of it."

Friend replied, "True. Previously I was scared at home. And Allah made the jungle peaceful for me. Now I am in peace at home, but then Allah has made the jungle scary for me."

Lesson : Don't worry, don't complain and be patient. Allah will compensate you on some other side, for that He didn't provide you on one side.

That's what I understood from the Arabic of the video attached.

Good lesson for our many brothers that have something to complain on their wife. And our would-be-bridegrooms that worry too much on their future as to get stunned.

চাহিদা নেই। ৪০ বছর আগে মানুষ যে রকম চামড়ার জুতাকে আভিজাত্যের প্রতিক হিসাবে দেখতো এখন আর সেরকম নেই। সব কেডস আর রেকসিন। বিদেশে চাহিদা আরো কম, কারন সবাই পশুপ্রেমি। চামড়া ব্যবহারকে খারাপ চোখে দেখা হয়।

"কিন্তু চামড়া অনেক দিন টেকে, রেকসিন..."

মানুষ এখন বেশি দিন টেকে এমন কিছু কেনে না। কিনে কিছু দিন ব্যবহার করে ফেলে দেয়, এর পর নতুন। নষ্ট হয় না বলে পুরানো জিনিস ফেলে নতুন কিনতে পারছি না -- একে মনে করে আরেক জ্বালা।

"মাদ্রাসাগুলো নিজেরা যদি একটা ট্যানারি কারখানা দিতো"

তবে তারা এই বাজার রেটেই কিনতো এখন যা আছে। এর থেকে বেশি রেটে না। আর টেনারিগুলো কত প্রফিট করছে সেই হিসাব আগে জেনে নিতে হবে। নয়তো আবেগে আবার ধরা।

"চামড়া পুতে ফেলেন।"

খারাপ সমাধান না। শহর হলে ড্রাষ্টবিনে ফেলে দিন। কারন দুইশ টাকা দিয়ে যে চামড়া মাদ্রাসা বিক্রি করবে, সেটা মাদ্রাসায় আমাকে দিয়ে আসতে রিকশা ভাড়া দিতে হবে ২০০, ঈদের দিন ভাড়া বেশি, আর চামড়ার রক্তে রিকশা নষ্ট হবে। রিকশাওয়ালাকে এগুলো পরিষ্কার করতে কষ্ট করতে হবে। তাই চামড়া ফেলে দিয়ে মাদ্রাসায় ক্যশ ২০০ টাকা দিয়ে দিন। একই হলো।

"চামড়া নিজে প্রসেস করা যায় না?"

যায় তবে কষ্টকর। এজন্য নিজে করি না। এর উপর ঈদের দিনের গোস্ত প্রসেসের ব্যস্ততা। তবে টিউটরিয়াল আছ বহু নেটে, ইউটুবে।

চামড়া নিয়ে রাগ দেখানো, কাল্পনিক "সিন্ডিকেটকে" গালা গালি করা এসব করে লাভ নেই। সিন্ডিকেট আপনি ভেঙ্গে দিতে পারেন নিজে চামড়া কিনে। কেউ আপনাকে বাধা দিচ্ছে না। আপনি সেটা করবেন না। আমি যা করবো না সেটা আরেকজন কেন করে না সেই রাগ দেখানো আমার কাজ না।

"সমাধান।"

কোনো ইন্ডাস্ট্রি যদি দাড়িয়ে যেতো যারা কোরবানির দিনে গরুর চামড়া নিয়ে প্রোসেসিং চার্জ নিয়ে প্রোসেস করে আবার মালিককে ফেরত দিয়ে দেবে, তবে আমি তাদের সার্ভিস নিতাম। ৮০ হাজার টাকার গরুর চামড়ার জন্য ৫ হাজার টাকা খরচ করতে রাজি আছি যদি সেটা প্রসেস করে বহু বছর কার্পেট হিসাবে ব্যবহার করতে পারি। একটা সাধারন কার্পেটের দাম যেহেতু ১০ হাজার টাকা।

Over the last 20 years, a lot of nations have turned into "meat eating nation" due to economic progress, which previously weren't. China for example one. Also in BD total number of cattle slaughtered is increasing. This is a world wide phenomenon.

Resulting in large increase in live stock production and thus creating a over supply of hides.

On the other hand hide usage for shoes and bags are decreasing. No one wants to be identified as an "animal skin user" in the west. Especially when there are better fabric alternates.

Resulting in an over supply of hides.

In USA farmers used to sell hides to dealers. While now they mostly are digging and burying those, as price fell significantly.

দিনের শেষে অনলাইনে আলোচনা : কেউ কেউ ২০০ টাকা পর্যন্ত অফার দেয়। কি দুঃসাহস।
ফেসবুকে ভিডিও : ব্রিজের উপর একজন লাইভ। চামড়া ব্যপারি বললো ১৫/= পিস করে নিবো। সে বললো "দিলাম না তোদের মতো বদমাশদের, দে ফালাইয়া সব নিচে নদিতে।" লাইভে চামড়া ফেলার দৃশ্য।

বিশাল গরুর ব্যপারিদের কান্না।

তবে আমি এখনো বলবো এগুলো কিছু অস্বাভাবিকতাকে আল্লাহ তায়ালা স্বাভাবিক করছেন।

ছোট গরু ধুমায়ে বিক্রি হয়েছে। বিশেষ করে ৬০ হাজার টাকার ঘরে যেগুলো।

আর গরুর চামড়া গোস্ত বিক্রি নিষেধ। একটা হাদিসে চামড়া গোস্ত একসাথে নিষেধ করা হয়েছে। হানাফিতে যদি কেউ গোস্ত বিক্রি করে ফেলে তবে সেই টাকা দান করে দিতে হবে। গোস্ত দিয়ে লিখলাম যেন বোধে আসে। চামড়ার হুকুম একই। আমরা এখন চামড়া বিক্রি করাটাকেই নিয়ম-কালচার বানিয়ে ফেলেছিলাম যে কারনে আল্লাহ তায়ালা ধরা খাইয়ে লাইনে ফিরিয়ে আনছেন।

এতদিন আমি গরুর চামড়া আস্ত মাদ্রাসায় দান করে দিতাম, বিক্রি না করে। আর গতবার খাসি দিয়েছিলো, চামড়াগুলো এমনি একজন যে চেয়েছে তাকে দিয়ে দিয়েছি। সে বিক্রি করলে আমার দোষ নেই। যেমন ফকিরদের গোস্ত দান করলে তারা রেইলগেইটে গিয়ে বিক্রি করলে আমার দোষ নেই।

এলাকার ছেলেপেলে বুঝাতো "আমার কাছে বিক্রি করে ঐ টাকাটাই মাদ্রাসায় দিয়ে দেন"।

আমি পাল্টা বুঝাতাম "গরুর গোস্ত বিক্রি করে, টাকাটা কি তোমরা কখনো ফকিরদের দান করো?"

পথ পাবার চেষ্টা। এটাই শেষ কথা তা না।
হয়তো পরে পথ আবার বদলাতে পারে।
কিন্তু দেখতে দেখতে শিক্ষা। মৃত্যু পর্যন্ত।

But that still has an end, right? There's a limit how much a given area of land can output food in a given time -- the later articles read.

And now : who uses land for food production anyway?

I was watching a video on youtube how a cattle farm in BD was producing cow feed using hydroponics. Layers of layers of vertical steel trays. No soil or fertilizer needed. Only watered continuously. And 1.5 kg of corn, turned into 8 kg of green grass in 10 days. No artificial lighting, no green house. Just open space.

That's how BD can produce enough cattle feed without any land. And where from did they learn the technique? They said from youtube!

I wasn't a fan of Saddam in his lifetime. I saw him as torturous, murderous, anti-Islamic. But truth be told a lot of good works had been done in the history of Islam by murderous dictators too. Specially in hard times, people get a merciless leader, or better say "deserves" one.

And such I am not listing Saddam's good deeds, but one thing now astonishes me is finding out how a large number of Iraqis praise him online for all his good works, and miss him on his death.

Maybe he personally changed a lot in later years, while I know him only from his early years. Or maybe, Iraq always deserves a ruthless leader for it to be stable, I don't know.

On his hanging stage Saddam declared, "Iraq can't survive without me." That was true for more than a decade after his death, when the whole country got torn into pieces by fractional in-fights.

But right now they seem to have more and less, found their balance.

Remembering Saddam on this day.

That's how we got that news, and everyone was then talking of it. I have seen the environment then, and seen how people reacted.

And even earlier memory was of the famine of that time and starving people arriving at our home asking for water from washed rice [ভাতের মাড়], and never the rice itself.

Once you pass through real hardship, these petty things of our modern time don't matter much.

And God doesn't give power to people He loves. That's another law spoken by a companion during a historic hard time for Muslims. Remembering which will help us to make sense of all the things that's happening around the world, or are about to happen.

May Allah guide and protect us all in our lifetime.

Now before you enthusiastic jump in into hide business, let me present some analysis. And I am putting it down in English so that those that can't grok won't read it, and we save a lot of time avoiding un-necessary arguments.

Now 20 years back a cattle price 15k. Its hide sold for 1,500/=. That's 10% of the cattle price. Now due to inflation price of everything has increased. That cow now gets sold for 80k. And with that rate its hide should have been priced at 12k BTD. In reality it's getting sold for 500/=, and people are upset for not getting 1k for it.

This large drop in price is itself an indication of the value these hides hold in the market. Even if the next year it gets sold for 800/=, they are still taking it almost for free, as collection, transport and the salting cost won't be covered by it.

This in a situation where 1 kg of meat sells at 500 to 600 taka. And meat distributed on Eid are conventionally sold at 30% higher price for it's high quality. Basically you have distributed more value to each of the poor meat collectors on that day by giving 1 kg of meat each, and paid the Madrasa less than the price of 1 kg of meat by handing over the 20 kg weighted hide to them.

- Afghanistan is a mess. Even if Talibans make a deal with USA on power share, it will result into a split between the Talibans, and the part that disagrees will break away and continue with their war against the rest. Maybe it's already happening.

- India is executing Kashmiris following Israel's rule book. more likely with their consultation and guidance. Exactly like how they punish Palestinians. I am not quoting news titles on their acts.

- Syria is flaring up again. With Turkey, Russia, USA, Israel, Iran in action. Daily reports and videos of some state-power bombing and killing someone else on land. But I have no idea who's fighting whom.

Couple of years back Putin demoed two deadly weapons, one of which was a nuclear powered missile. That's nuclear "powered" not "warhead". The big point was that it can fly indefinitely on air going around the globe and strike America from unexpected direction.

Too good to be true? Well might be.

A test of that missile caused a large nuclear explosion in mid air in Russia. You read that right, nuclear explosion. And radiation spiked. Which now can be detected form Europe.

Within that same period a very large explosion took place in an arms depot in Siberia, which from afar looked more like a nuclear explosion taking place than conventional explosive. And three days later another second large explosion took place there.

But the later ones might not be nuclear, the first one was.

Nothing. It's just a convenient way to look at your mobile screen without pulling it out from pocket.

It has a heart rate monitor. But so does your mobile. You need to hold your finger on the mobile camera for 10 secs and run an app. This one is just convenient.

And here goes my old beloved Casio watch out. I had been using it for 3 years without a battery change and its still running fine on solar. The straps aren't torn, while all old casio watches I wore in the 90s were torn in 6 months. The face has got scratches, but the big positive -- I never had to charge it.

This digital watch will need a recharge every 20 days.

This comes as a surprise watching how much tech has improved. USA's GPS system at that time was considered so much extraordinary and expensive, that I doubted any second system can ever arrive as a competitor. And now we have Russian Glonass, Europ's Galileo and China's Beidou, at least four systems in operation.

I still remember the excitement getting my first eTrax GPS device on hand, and how much that helped me for many years. Now we take the GPS on our phones for granted, so much that we barely notice it anymore.

This year I made the cattle purchase from Bengal meat. They put up the list 1 month before Eid. You can check weight and short video along with a bunch of pics. Once chosen place your order using credit card.

But, the credit cards they accepted weren't the one I was using. Therefore had to travel to their sales center. They punched in the data and swapped the card. Done.

As usual, you can provide upto 7 names for whom this sacrifice should be performed. You can opt to take the bowel too. They will clean it, chop it and deliver in packet.

They promised 1st day slaughter. But second day delivery of the meat. And they did as promised. I was sent a SMS at 1 pm that the sacrifice has been made.

Delivery was made on the second day of Eid. It was promised before 4 pm, but they delivered it at 7 pm. All packed and in a air conditioned van. Not much instruction was need for the driver to locate my home.

Packing was all in sealed plastic. Meat chopped into pieces. Two or three large whole pieces in case you have other plans. And those plastics packs were repacked into cardboard boxes and bound before delivery. Liver, heart, brain delivered un chopped, but packed in sealed plastic as usual. And as for leg bones, those were still there. All meat was chilled, but not frozen.

They also provided a total calculation of the weight. Cattle weight, meat weight, skin and thrown away parts weight. Everything adding upto the total weight of the cattle.

As of the skin, they didn't deliver it, but provided a refund of 800/= as its price.

The good points :

Hassle free. I didn't have to visit the cattle market, walk all day and haggle with the sellers. Could buy it well ahead of time. Whereas in markets, the seller won't sell his cattle until just before Eid day. You don't have to worry about the cattle health, a big relief. The cutting and chopping were professional and dirt free. Possibly machine cut. And the meat was pre chilled. which avoided rotting of warm meat that generally occurs when those are freezed up at home.

And considerations :

The whole process was 15% more costly than doing it yourself the conventional way. And some people always prefer to do it the conventional way on religion ground, that's fully understandable.

That was from my experience.

তাই "ইজতেমায়ি" ভাবে সব কিছু করলেই যে বেশি সোয়াব হবে, তা না।

একজন বলেছিলো জামাতের সাথে শুধু দুটো আমল : নামাজ আর জিহাদ। বাকি সব ইবাদত-আমল একা একা করা নিয়ম। যে যার মতো।

এমন কি হজ্জে যে লাব্বায়েক বলে এটাও সবাই এক সাথে এক সূরে না। যে যার মতো। যদিও এতে নিজেকে দল ছাড়া মনে হয়। "বিচ্ছিন্ন"। অথচ অন্যরা কত সুন্দর একত্রে করছে।

নিজের জন্য শিক্ষা।

What next? USA leaving Afghanistan? Unbelievable.

Trump, no matter his intentions, have messed up US business and diplomatic relationship with rest of the world. And polls show he might lose the upcoming election.

Here are the possible outcomes based on my judgement ;

40% : Trump will win a next term, regardless. Think of the previous election and how he had only 1% chance of getting nominated in the first place, as per CNN.

5% : "Throwing in the towel", he will quit before nomination and someone else will stand for GOP. This is what the Dems are dreaming. Though very unlikely to happen. Specially when he sees himself as the "chosen one."

20% : He lose and chaos ensues. We see the "militia" mentioned in US constitution in action for the first time ever.

This one is a wrist watch, that looks like a band, that you wear on your hand and gives you data and statistics on your exercise, movement and physical activities all day long.

You can view the stats from your Android device which syncs up with the band over bluetooth.

Things you get are total distance walked, hours slept, heart rate during exercise, step count and such.

The home screen works as a clock face too. Touch the screen to light it up and see the time. Touch again to turn off. Auto turns off after 4 secs.

The battery lasts for 20 days. I am seeing a 5% reduction in charge every day. You have to recharge it afterwards. Recharging requires the device to be pushed out of its band and slide into it's USB charging slot. Recharging takes 2 hours.

|| The good parts

The band vibrates after each kilometer of walk and I know how much I have made without pulling out the mobile or reading the band.

Has a heart rate counter. You can rise up your hand and see your current heart rate as you walk.

And the customizable clock screen allows me to set a large clock face with clear digits. In my previous dial watch I could hardly see the time at night. This one lights up.

And it's water proof. Don't need to open it every time you perform washing before prayers.

|| The bad parts

Unlike other devices this one can run only a single function at a time. So when you are in the middle of a work out, for example, you can't escape that screen to view the watch face. This one is most irritating.

Thin and tall : I couldn't use the other 6" phone I had on 1 hand. Needed two hands, one to hold the phone and the other to swipe. But the thin form factor of this phone allows me to use this one on one hand.

IR Blaster : This one is the most useful feature I had for a long time. Can turn on the AC using it, as the original remote is now half broken.

Prank : go to the mosque and turn on the mosque AC. The care taker there probably won't like it, but if you are a kid, it's not your age to care about the care taker anyway. :V

More evil prank : sitting at the waiting room of a hospital or bank? Use it to turn off the TV, mute it, or change the channel. :V

Fingerprint scanner : Touch the scanner, and the phone will instantly unlock and wake up. Good feature.

Face unlock : instead of drawing an art on the screen every time you want to unlock it, you can simple stare at the phone and the phone will unlock using face identification.

Tried it. But then the touch screen gets automatically unlocked while it sits in my back pocket, and my walk movement makes random phone calls all over. You need a lock simply to prevent the phone from behaving weirdly.

Charging. Needs charging on alternate days, not everyday. I don't charge it everyday. On a good use the battery reduces to 70% from 100%. On general days it reduces by 10% maybe. Battery is non-removable and thus larger in capacity.

Screen contrast : Feels far better than my last phone.

Camera : Dual camera on the back. And a high resolution on the front. Even though the high res camera might indicate it's a "selfie phone" you need it there to make the face unlock work.

Overall I am satisfied by screen quality, battery life and responsiveness.

The bad parts?

No 5GHz WiFi [ac band] that's a must for modern phones. As 2.4GHz is so overcrowded.

Now for some stats :

For medium to large cattle, exactly 60% of its live weight is edible meat. This last bull was declared to be 1600 kg in weight. And its meat sold was 1000 kg. At 500/= per kg, its meat price came out to be 500k. And that was its fair price.

There are three numbers :
Base rate : rate when you have awaken from sleep in the morning.
Maximum rate : 220 minus your age.
Working rate : The difference between base rate and maximum rate.

As you wake up in the morning and start work your heart rate will rise above base rate and jump within base rate and maximum rate.

Generally the lower a base rate one has the better. Unless he is weak and can't walk, and thus the lower rate is due to a disease.

Pulse rate while walking is a good indicator of one's heart condition. Doctors perform treadmill test, also called a stress test, to measure heat condition.

In treadmill test one has to walk on it for 27 minutes. The test taker will increase the speed and inclination of the treadmill every 3 minutes. It starts with 3 km/hr. And is gradually increased up to 8 km/hr. If one can complete the full test, his heart is healthy. Not 100% sure it's healthy, but 90% sure, more accurate than any other test.

If your pulse jumps above 85% of maximum rate doctor will stop the test and you fail. There are other conditions, but this one was for an idea.

Son of a rich man. Visited a relative's home. Found the email open. Sent two mails with threats of te***st attack. One to a school and the other to a hospital. Was a bit creative in his mail text. And assumed, "Ha ha! no one can find me anyway".

But police were able to trace him regardless. They took the mail header. Submitted it to google with ter**** attack emergency. Google provided them with the IP and details. Tracked the area and house and the rest was easy.

Lesson : People get bored when they don't have enough trouble in life. That's a bad sign.

The distance that Muslim travelers used to travel in pre-industrialization days were 25 km daily. From which came the term "a days distance" or "1 manjil distance". Manjil here means camping for the day.

But how would it convert to modern times? When we have paved roads and don't walk on rough terrains like in the old days?

Yesterday there was a news of a walker in BD who traveled form north most point of BD to south most. He walked 1000 km in 31 days. He said he used to walk 30 km / day on average. Indicating that limit is almost still the same in modern times.

I was watching a documentary many years ago on an European or American walker. He said even though he used to walk longer distance in the early days, now his daily walk is 24 km. Exactly the same as the arab travelers.

The longest I believe I walked on a single go is when I used to return from Tongi field to home after the last day of gathering. That distance I measured on maps is 18 km.

And during Hajj if one decides to walk to Arafa on the hajj day, he has to walk 18 km too. It takes about 3 to 4 hours.

This attitude isn't new, and anywhere you go to take a shelter you will meet the same from locals. And this is exactly the same emotion the Europeans are showing towards BD refuge takers there.

Sheltering someone requires BIG sacrifice from the host. And you will always find the people you extend your helping hand as "ungrateful". The only thing that still makes it work is the selfless, exceptional and extreme politeness of the host. How much of that a nation holds, is something of a subject of study.

All these reminds me is the Ansar and Muhajirs of the Arabs. Arab Ansars are now lost over time. Muhajirs are the majority. Extreme politeness that I talked of might wipe you off. But that's still extreme politeness. May Allah forgive them all.

People that can't tolerate history trend to deny them. I don't. Rather I try to take lesson from the people of our past.

Pic shows the city of Al-Khalil [Hebron] in Palestine where this establishment cooks meal for 500 everyday and distribute for free to town dweller starting from noon to afternoon. They look at it as the Sunnah of Ibrahim. A gift from the rich people in the city to the poor. The cooking, organization and distribution is performed voluntarily.

Crowd wasn't as much as I used to see on a Thursday night. Half the mosque was full during Magrib prayers even on the mid floor where the Imam stands. Upto the two small stairs on left and right. While in the 90s when I was a regular, it was always full to brim.

Maybe it's the decentralization of the work. Maybe it's due to the division within.

Time flies. Bricks and mortars don't hold any special meaning. Only our deeds remain for ever. The bricks? Those are witnesses of our deeds.

The new shakeup is an explosive article by Nehal vai. I don't follow him on fb. He recently gave an interview to AFP and his story is making the rounds on all international news papers. I can't link any of those here. Keyword for the interested should be "Hojaifa al Mamduh".

Add with it today's news of three kids dead in the room of a Imam while he was leading Jumma. The imam most likely wasn't involved as one of the dead was his son. But these are dark shadows on an already vulnerable situation.

তাদের উপর আল্লাহ তায়ালা পরিক্ষা নেন বড়। সত্যি কি দ্বিনের জন্য এখন সে সব ছাড়তে পারে? বিশাল খ্যাতি যশ আনন্দ বিলাশিতা থেকে ধুপ করে নিচে নেমে আসে। এর পর কি শান্তি তারা পায় সেটা তারা জানে। এতেই তাদের আনন্দ। অধিকাংশ সময় অশ্রুতে।

হযরত মুসাইব রা: উনাদের এক উদাহরন। আল্লাহ তায়ালা তাদের খুব বেশি দিন পরিক্ষায় রাখেন না।

হজ্জ শেষ হবার পরে মৃত্যু। আগে হলে ভিন্ন, কিন্তু শেষে সমস্ত গুনাহ মাফ হয়ে যায়। এর পরের মৃত্যু হলে নিস্পাপ।

বাড়ি ফিরার আগে মৃত্যু। কারন হাজ্জিরা বাড়ি ঢুকার পর থেকে তার নিস্পাপ অবস্থা আর থাকে না।

মক্কা শরিফে মৃত্যু। কারন কেউ বলেছিলো মদিনাতে সমস্ত হাজ্জিদের বাকিতে কবর হয় না। বাছাই করে কিছু হয়। কিন্তু মক্কার সবার হয় মালাতে।

বাকি আর মালা। এই দুই কবরস্থান থেকে মানুষ সর্বপ্রথম কিয়ামতের মাঠ উঠবে। একে অন্যের দিকে হাটতে থাকবে। এর পর মাঝ জায়গায় দেখা দুই গ্রুপ এক। রাসুলুল্লাহ ﷺ থাকবেন সেই গ্রুপের সাথে। এর পর বাকিদের উঠা।

আল্লাহ তায়ালা উনাকে দিনের পর দিন আইসিইউতে রাখেন নি।
দিনের পর দিন আসুস্থ, টেষ্ট "কি হবে যে ভাই" ভারতে দৌড়ের উপর রাখেন নি।

কালেমা পড়া অবস্থায় মৃত্যু। যা বলে সে মারা যাবে সেই কথাই বলতে বলতে সে হাশরের মাঠে উঠবে।

The whole article's tone is very empathetic towards her. As like she is in poverty and none is doing anything.

The back story I can assume, no matter how much you help her all that money will be wasted behind drugs. She will still be in similar poverty.

This isn't a single special case. Rather every victim that surprises you has a backstory. Reading which you might not get as much sympathetic towards him as before.

Lets cut short to the lesson : we still have to help the victim, regardless of his past. But not in the cases when we know that the help will go to waste.
