The standard practice for writing console apps now is Python instead of previous Perl. But python is so much unstable still. Like scripts for v3.5 won't run on v.3.9.

Which lead to conda. Install multiple versions and run using whichever the script runs on. Adding another level of abstraction over the runtime.
