There were movie theaters [locally called "cinema hall"] almost at every important point in Dhaka. We used to identify the area with the hall's name.
Gulstan hall, Rajmani hall, Jonaki hall. All those have now been demolished as soon as cable TV took over.
Still anytime I cross a junction, I identify the area as "that" hall, a hall which no longer exist, other than in my memory and memory of people who happened to live in this city for so long.
