Doing business :
Slack reports $140M in loss over $400M revenue. And I thought it should be extremely profitable because of all its high profile paid corporate clients.
Uber lost $8 B over its 8 years of service. And analyst are doubtful if it can ever be profitable. And I thought it should be at least 20% profitable over its 30% cut on fares. Come on, how much can it cost to host a few servers and internet bandwidth?
Doing business is tough. It's a illusion when people believes that most can earn money doing business.
"Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime." -- not necessarily. Teach him to fish and you open up ways for him to lose more money than he could ever from eating fish.
Some people can do it. They are called businessmen. And are generally a bit more ruthless than the average. Most others can't.
