They say that the best strategy when the building you are on catches fire is to stay where you are.
You can later check from outside on which floor the fire started. And can come up with theories that people should have gone that way to get saved. But when you are in the building on the moment when everyone is shouting fire and you are seeing smoke, it's hard to exactly know whether the fire has started on your top floor, or bottom floors.
