First conquering of K2 in Winter. "In Winter" is the key word here as K2 even though is 2nd tallest peak, is 3x harder to ascend even in summer compared to Everest. Because of its sharp and dangerous vertical drops and strong wind.

And in winter? It's like death.

Kudos to Nepalis. Before recently even though Nepali Sherpas did all the hard lifting, it was always some European that took the credit, as Nepalis couldn't initiate or organize events solely by themselves. Neither they had the fund nor the will.

This time -- they did it themselves.
