One of Googles super computers called AlphaFold, specially built to solve protein folding problem, has solved the puzzle once and for all.
Those that remember running "Folding @ Home" in the 00s.
The problem was about calculating physical properties for 20 types of amino acids forming a chain and to predict how this chain will fold down. That required a lot of computation.
And now that it's solved, scientists can simulate proteins on computers for more research.
