The bang that Apple's M1 chip is making in the market telling me that the future of PC/Laptop are in M1 like systems. Multi core ARM processor embedded with Graphics card, RAM and others. System on a Chip. Maybe even the SSD might go with it.
Implying days of memory upgrade are gone. Who now a days change their laptop memory after purchase anyway?
But this will have limited effect on Software job market, as it's not bringing in new processing power to the masses to utilize.
Software market is derived by users getting new hardware requiring new software.
