Milky way in blue, colliding with Andromeda in red. 4 billion years from now.

Note : Stars won't hit one another. It's mostly Hydrogen gas compressing to form billions of more starts rapidly.

The galaxies don't stray apart after the collision. They return back after a while to merge cores, not shown here.
