Remember the explosion in Siberia in 1908?
New theory : it wasn't an asteroid that hit the earth. Rather it was far larger asteroid that bumped off the atmosphere and returned back to space. And the nearest that it came to surface was that point in Siberia.
Which is why we couldn't find any crater later. And witnesses said "the sky split into two from one side to the other."
Event would have been far more disastrous had it hit earth.
