"Civil war"
The question in every pessimist's mind. Will US head up there after election?
Note that for a "civil war" you don't need every city to end up in war. Was reading that the last US civil war could be termed as 40 officers revolting against the central government and them being eliminated. And there wasn't really any significant war anywhere.
That's arguable history. But a perspective, nevertheless. A little bit of war and you can call it a Civil war, given that the ideological split between the population is large enough.
Flash back. In the 80s. BTV used to broadcast "North and South", a story on these.
