Bloomberg reports on Japan's "lost generation".

Now in Japan jobs are offered to people fresh out of Universities. Not to some 40s or 50s. Therefore if you happen to get out of University in a recession year when there's no job offer, then you would remain jobless the rest of your life.

The thing is Japan faced a decade long recession from 90 to 00s. Resulting into a whole generation of jobless middle aged people.

I would have liked to find similarity with covid era. But that might be talking about too much doom and gloom.

Rather think differently, what would you have done as an alternate?
