i5 : 58k.
The difference is that i3s are dual core while i5 are quad. Had been using i5s for the last decade but now having a second thought.
The one I am using now can run 8 parallel processes. And the only time when I needed all those were when striping music off videos and pretty much nothing more.
Possibly going for i3s. Knowing that no matter how expensive a laptop I get, won't last more than 1 year anyway. Therefore it's better to go for the cheap ones.

- Oh, I thought surface books where keyboard less or had flexible keyboard which are non-tactical and can't use lying on a bed. Looks like surface books are now basically 100% laptops.
Wondering if that will allow me to wipe the whole OS and install linux on it. There's some protection called APC or whatever that didn't allow unauthorized OS to be installed.
