Me trying to do something with an Arduino. Probably attaching a sonar distance meter and an LCD display to show live water level in overhead water tank to decide on when to turn on the motor.
That did work, but not for long. The sonar sensor got wet in the rainy season and went out of order. Right now the solution is to place a CC camera inside the tank and watch water level live on display. Less techey solution that works :-)
Plus the motor has been automated using floating valves. But had to use 12V relays so that I don't accidentally send 220V AC inside the water tank.

- ^ Simple when explained to the user. But what works behind the scene for that solution is complex. Someone had to design the circuit for it to work.
