Report : NVIDIA now in talk on purchasing ARM for $50B+. ARM is currently owned by SoftBank.
Note that the future is in ARM, if Apple manages to shift all their Macs to ARM as indicated before.
When I entered computing work in the 90s, processors where of 8+ types. Intel, PowerPC for Mac, Sun had their Solaris processor. Also DEC's Alpha processor. And what not.
Later all processors went off the market except two. Intel and ARM.
Nvidia still builds the highest FLOPs processor in the market. Their graphics card, which is used more for processing than graphics.
