A massive star in another galaxy. So large that it would have filled half the space in our solar system by itself. These are rare stars and very unstable. And when they collapse, they pretty sure would go supernova as per our understanding, and turn into blackhole.

But this one was visible 10 years back. And now has vanished from telescopes. Indicating it collapsed without turning into a supernova. Contradicting our previous understanding on how stellar physics work.

Star in question is in another galaxy some 70 galactic distance [million LY] away.
