Now as Covid has taken its full toll, I was waiting for the next big thing to happen. Surely something should be up there before things calm down too much and return to normalcy, right?

And as for this time, the article predicts famine, earthquake and volcanic eruption due to temperature change.
Famine : the word I am most scared of is right there in the article.
