Here's my experience on forbidden path towards learning Arabic.
Basically it's through using Netflix.

Why Netflix? First I found a reference of Language learning pack plugin for Netflix. Where you can view subtitles on two langues, auto pause after each dialog and more. First question was should I continue?

What I needed was dialog in arabic, but subtitle in english. That's the most helpful one. And needed some real conversation, not simulated. Youtube, torrent, popcorn time didn't help. Last wanted to shred some money. Lets see how much that work.

The charge is around $10/month. But didn't I read in India they take about half the price? Checked. That's streamed to mobile only. Not helpful. I needed laptop. Needed a CC. The first month was free.

Was inside. Next? The language pack wasn't that much helpful. Ditched it. Had to figure out arabic dialog content. The first ones were Arab drama serials, everyone had English subtitle. But still that didn't help either.
First those were too fast speaking. And where talking in colloquial arabic. I need more like modern standard. But noticed that most of those were
