A popular thought right now is about building a ventilator. I did think of that previously. Conclusion was, it won't work.
First, you just don't connect yourself with a ventilator and lay on a bed. You will be coughing non-stop with the virus in your lung. Will need sedative to go into a sleep like mode and other drugs to stop the coughing. And these should be administered in the right quantity by a doctor.
Second, you will need a cylinder of Oxygen every day. 25 liters. And as soon as the epidemic starts, that will go off the market.
Third, 97% of everyone who's hooked up with the ventilator ultimately die. All these hardship, is to extend the days of a dying man by a few weeks.
Don't spank yourself because you can't find a ventilator for your loved one. Even though this one is my advice, I don't know how I might react when its my or my close one's time.
