Note that the west is going for "Flattening the Curve" not prevention and safe.
Flattening the curve still means everyone will get infected. But they will get infected serially at a constant rate. Instead of everyone at once.
There's no permanent hiding from it, and hoping it goes away, which unfortunately some of us are aiming for.
