The Irony :
A few years back India was organizing it's "Bathing of the Saints" event or someting similar. Where thousands of their Saints ran in open field dressed like... well whatever bath takers dress in. And two western tourists were there who where there and join in and were promptly arrested for "indecency".
But...? weren't everyone dressed the same? Apparently it was ok for Indians in India to dress like, that but not for westerners.
The opposite thing happened this week in KSA.
Saudi had been organizing open air concerts and musical events recently, which was forbidden on that land since ... well since time unknown. And everyone from BTS to Niki Minaj were joining in.
With all these encouragement, can't local saudis just join in for the fun? A saudi girl did just that. Released a rap video of her titled "Mecca Girl" singing in a restaurant.
The next day all hell broke lose. The video removed. And police is after her and everyone that recorded it.
Apparently it's okay to watch westerners sing in KSA, but not to do it yourself.
