There were drones flying overhead prior to the Tanker attack. And Iran shot one down a few days earlier and missed one on that day. The SAM being fired to take the drone down fell on sea.

So why didn't USA tell us about that? Right now everything is murky and no one is completely believing the US side of the story.

But if the allies want war, they will be in war sooner rather than later. And probably we are going to see that.
