I wouldn't call the current trend in global political leaders as "rise of far-right", as much as "rise of badass". People now want to see an ass-kicker in the leadership, whether he is right or left leaned.
Boris Johnson, Trump, Philippine's Duterte, India's Modi ji, Kim Jong, whoever is here in BD or KSA's MbS all the same.
Nice guys finish last. There's a time for them. Like during nation building.
But now is a different time.
