Don't count all "science" as absolute :
Most research papers are false. This is a known and proven thing. And mostly because people are so much in rush to get their PhD that they would publish anything to increase their karma.
You can count talks like : "scientific research shows that..." as mere gossip. We discuss about it. We talk about it. But it probably isn't true. Just some authors junk study, which isn't any much better than your high school lab work. Which we all cheated through using "back calculation". Knowing our expected result beforehand. And then putting the observed "values" that give us our expected final result.
