Gizmodo's take on Hawking's last paper. It says of parallel universes but not in the sense of what we are used to hear from Quantum Mechanics.

But more like infinite number of existing universes spread out due to expansion of universes.

But even this article doesn't explain the title of the paper : “A Smooth Exit from Eternal Inflation?”
